The philosophy of "breathe, release, and let it go" is at the heart of my practice. It's a gentle reminder that within each breath lies the potential for profound transformation. This mantra encourages us to turn inwards, to the rhythm of our breath, as a source of strength and renewal.

Somatic Breathwork

so·mat·ic: relating to the body, especially as distinct from the mind

The word somatic comes from the Greek word soma, meaning “the living body” - and that’s exactly what this work honors: the living, feeling, knowing body you inhabit.

Somatic Breathwork is a profound and transformative practice that supports individuals who may find themselves feeling imbalanced in life. Through rhythmic, conscious breathing, Somatic Breathwork supports you in releasing stored emotions, calming your nervous system, and softening patterns of tension or trauma that may be held beneath the surface. It bridges the gap between your body and your mind, helping you feel safe, grounded, and fully present.

This isn’t about just doing breathwork - it’s about feeling into it.


While every session is unique to the individual, this practice includes:

  1. Guided breathing patterns that align with your body’s rhythm.

  2. Opportunities to notice and move through sensations or stuck energy.

  3. A safe, spacious container to release what you no longer need.

  4. Moments of stillness to rest, integrate, and receive.

  5. Support in listening to your body’s cues with gentleness and curiosity.

  6. A trauma-informed environment where your boundaries are honored.

  7. Time to reflect, ground, and return to the present with more clarity and ease.

For some, breathwork can feel deeply emotional. For others, it simply brings a sense of calm and clarity. There’s no right or wrong experience, only what’s true for you in the moment.

Whether we connect virtually or in person from my tranquil home space, my goal is to support you in creating a harmonious life. This practice is not just about breathing; it's about unlocking the door to your inner world, where true transformation can occur. Through somatic breathwork, you can begin to release old patterns and traumas stored in the body, making space for new energies and positive shifts in your life. It's a journey of coming home to yourself, finding balance, and embracing your power.

Guided by Me, Held by the Breath

I’m Sonya, a trauma-informed guide and Somatic Breathwork facilitator. I created Aligned Transformations to be a soft place to land for women who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are beneath the burnout.

I’ve walked this path myself - the one where you feel like you’ve lost your spark, your voice, or your sense of direction. Through nervous system healing, somatic practices, and conscious breath, I found my way back home to myself. Now I hold space for other women to do the same.

My sessions are gentle, intuitive, and deeply supportive. I know how important it is to feel safe, seen, and in control - especially when exploring the deeper layers of healing. That’s why everything I offer is rooted in nervous system attunement, consent, and choice.

In our work together, you are always in the lead. Your body, your pace, your boundaries.

I’m here to guide you, but I will never push too hard, pressure, or override your experience. You can opt in or out of any part of the session. You can pause, cry, laugh, lie still, or change your mind. You don’t need to show up a certain way - you get to be you.

Whether we meet virtually or in one of my cozy, grounded in-person spaces, you’ll be held with compassion and care. I’ll offer gentle, intuitive guidance, but your body’s wisdom sets the tone. This is your time to soften, be with yourself, and breathe in a way that feels supportive to you.

Because true healing happens when your body feels safe enough to exhale.

Benefits of Somatic Breathwork

Nervous system regulation – when your nervous system is regulated (healthy) it can flow between two states: sympathetic (rest and digest) and parasympathetic (fight or flight). When you are stuck in a parasympathetic state you may feel lethargic and depressed. 

Mind-Body-Spirit, balance & alignment – when you are not balanced and aligned life can feel extra difficult. If there is anything we do not need more of is difficulty.  When you take the time to connect with your breath and become centered you can reduce the anxiety you feel in day-to-day life and gain mental clarity. 

Increased feelings of self-love, connectedness, happiness, and safety – breathwork is an inward journey that takes you out of your thinking mind and back into your body.  Through breathwork, you are deepening your relationship with yourself and your body. 

Emotional release and trauma integration - the body remembers what the mind tries to forget. Breathwork offers a safe pathway for stored emotions and unresolved trauma to move through and out of the body without having to talk through every detail. It’s a non-verbal, body-led form of healing that respects your pace.

Relief from anxiety, stress, and overthinking - by shifting your awareness from your busy mind to the rhythm of your breath, you create space for stillness and ease. Somatic Breathwork calms the mental chatter and brings you into a more regulated, embodied state - ideal for those who feel stuck in cycles of worry or overwhelm.

Improved sleep, focus, and energy - regulating your breath also supports deeper rest, clearer mental focus, and more balanced energy throughout the day. Many women report sleeping better, waking up lighter, and feeling more resilient in daily life.

Deeper intuition and inner knowing - the more you connect with your breath and body, the easier it becomes to hear your inner voice. Somatic Breathwork helps quiet the noise so you can access clarity, trust, and guidance from within, rather than constantly seeking answers outside yourself.

Feeling grounded and present in your body - this practice teaches you how to be in your body again, not just live in your head. Through breath, you return to your physical home: rooted, aware, and present.

What to Expect in a Session

Nervous system awareness and trauma-informed education - We begin with a soft arrival into the space. We discuss how stress and trauma can affect the nervous system, which impacts daily life.

Grounding practice to settle in - Before we begin the breathwork itself, we’ll ground together using multi-sensory tools that support safety and presence. This may include calming scents, gentle meditation, body awareness, or centering cues that help your system soften and settle. These moments are essential for building trust between you and your body. It’s where we create the internal conditions for release, rest, and reconnection.

The breath journey - we’ll move into the active breathwork practice which is a rhythmic, guided breathing experience that supports nervous system regulation and emotional release. You’ll be supported with curated music, guidance from me, and space to move, feel, or express whatever arises.

Being held in sacred witness - throughout the session, you are compassionately witnessed. I’ll be present and attuned to what you need - whether it’s silence, verbal encouragement, a reminder to trust your pace, or simply presence. There is no fixing, no forcing, and no expectation for how you “should” show up. You are free to release, cry, stay still, or shift however your body needs to. This is about letting your body speak in its own language - and being lovingly supported as it does.

Gentle integration - we’ll close the session with time to rest, reflect, and return gently. You may feel called to journal, share, or simply sit in stillness. Sharing is always optional, and integration is honored as a vital part of your process. This is the space where insights settle, softness expands, and the breath continues to work within you even after the session ends.
